The scanner works perfectly, I have scanned many pictures with it and example pictures can be sent if you wish. The damage is purely cosmetic as the ABS plastic has weakened slightly with time. The 4000 DPI and 48-bit scan resolution are phenomenal and has been a game changer for editing work.
