HM 1900 9ct Gold Scottish Theme Sweetheart Thistle Amethyst & Citrine Brooch 4g

This is a beautiful gold Scottish theme brooch has Chester 1900 9ct hallmarks making it easy to date to the end of the Victorian era. It has a linear form with two short arms of thistle flowers. The middle has two offset sweetheart shapes framed with small flower motifs. They have a multi-claw bezel; one is set with a facet cut heart shape amethyst the other has a faceted citrine. Above them is a proud thistle between two thistle leaves.

It has been bloomed to give the brooch a satin look in keeping with the prevailing fashion of the period. The back has a simple steel pin and hook hasp fitting.
