What is ICOCA?

ICOCA is a contactless transportation card issued by West Japan Railway Company (JR West) and used mainly in the Kinki region.

ICOCA can be used to pay for public transportation (trains, buses, subways, etc.) and can also be used at some convenience stores and some vending machines.

The card is designed to facilitate smooth travel within Japan. Users simply hold the card over a reader and the fare is automatically deducted.

The card can also be charged (deposited) in advance and recharged when the balance is insufficient.

Recharging can be done easily at stations and other locations mainly in Japan.

ICOCA can be used not only in Osaka, but also in Tokyo, Hokkaido, Kyoto, Nagoya, and Fukuoka, just like Suica.

The card can be used on trains, buses, vending machines, and convenience stores in Japan.

The card can be used by anyone without registration.

It can also be imported into Apple Pay.

Place the card in a sleeve and protect it with cardboard.
It will also be delivered in a padded envelope.
