SACS  tool SWA cable stripper

Condition is New. Dispatched with Royal Mail 2nd Class.

The SACS is unique as it is the only tool on the market that can cut both layers of an armoured cable radially (outer plastic and steel strands) and then cut axially down the cable to permit removal of the outer layer. It can operate on cable diameters from 12mm up to 35mm. The operating method is simple and easily learnt with a fine level of control. In use it gives a safer, faster ,less energetic and more accurate finish to the cable stripping process. It will reduce cable vibration, which can be advantageous.

Present methods of preparing a Steel Armoured Cable (SWA) involve the use of a hacksaw and sharp knife. This presents potential hazards and the opportunity to make mistakes. This can be quite expensive and time consuming. The most obvious danger is from slipping with the hacksaw or knife and cutting yourself ,a problem that i can say from experience has happened on more than one occasion.Overcutting/undercutting of the steel strands can lead to damage of the cable or difficulty breaking off the strands. Cable vibration is problematic when the cable comes through a suspended ceiling or partition. Confined spaces hinder the process. It is quite rigorous to perform. The gland that is attached to the exposed strands forms an important part of the electrical safety of the circuit as it can be used as the earth, so it needs to be done correctly.

The SACS removes all of these potential hazards by performing the various cuts in a controlled ,accurate and safe manner
