A magnificent embossed Edwardian
silver sugar basket & matching sifter spoon, magnificent & cased, with
clear and crisp matching hallmarks for Sheffield 1909. Weight 248.6g /
8tr oz. Only on rare occasions do I ever describe items as 'magnificent', well
there is no other way to describe this, it is simply the best example of its
type I have seen in 47 years of dealing. Such a bonus too, having the
original case, itself a work of art. The bowl is 6" / 15cm wide, and
importantly is displaying little sign of wear or use, doubtless protected in
part by its sturdy case. The maker is also the retailer, as shown on the
inside lid of the case, and also the underside of the sugar bowl.
