Althaea (Althaea officinalis), belongs to the Malvaceae family.
It originates from the area around the Caspian and Black Seas as well as the eastern Mediterranean. It blooms from June to August.
Althaia root is used for muscle pains, it is soothing, often in herbal drinks to treat common colds.
Use: Pour 1-2 teaspoons of tea into a cup of water to simmer for 7-10 minutes, drain and use.
Drink the drink 2-3 times a day.
