Culture Hongshan o Hung-shan (approx. 4700 - 2900 B.C.) was a civilization prehistoric from the northeast of China.

The culture owes its name to Hongshanhou, a site in the district of Hongshan , Chifeng, which was discovered by Japanese archaeologist Torii Ryūzō in 1908, and extensively excavated in 1935 by Kōsaku Hamada and Mizuno Seiichi.

It appears it had a elite of three levels whose members were honored through complex burials. Pottery painted that has been found there, links it to the Yangshao culture, while its beautiful jade objects link it to other cultures that worked the same stone on the East Coast, such as the culture of Liangzhu
