Simple and effective cleaning

Walk-along brooms have been around since the early 1970s and sometimes they do their job well, sometimes not so well. A frequently observed phenomenon is the so-called rushing through, or skating, of the brush arm towards the center of the record without running synchronously with the stylus. The latest developments therefore also consistently rely on measures that prevent exactly that. With the highly effective neodymium magnet, a material has been available for some time that can be used precisely here if cleverly integrated into the concept. Sweep it S2 was developed in cooperation with Klaus Mick and uses his patented principle to magnetically stabilize the sweeper. Intensive research and development of the technical and physical properties and empirical test arrangements have led to the product that you are holding in your hands.

The magnetic attraction between the neodymium magnet placed in the upper end of the cylinder and the iron core/counterweight stabilizes the broom. The distance between these two elements has been precisely calculated to achieve an exact magnetic stabilization force. Because aluminum is paramagnetic, the broom arm provides additional spacing between the neodymium magnet and the iron core/counterweight.

Sweep it S2 is approx. 1 cm adjustable. A small grub screw fixes the position. This allows you to fine-tune the arm of the idler brush so that it runs as horizontally as possible to the turntable. In this way, an ideal tracking force of approx. 6g scored.

Flexible positioning

Depending on the type of record player, the brush can be positioned in one of the 2 left corners. The brush at the end of the arm should rest right in the middle of the platter, on the platter mandrel. Deviations of 1.5 2 cm are tolerated very well by the design of the Sweep it S2. Higher deviations can lead to increased skating.
