MGF Freestyle MPI.

I bought it for some nice parts I wanted, as it came to me cheaply...but its a lot better than I expected it to be so I've done a few jobs and sailed it through an MOT for a new owner!

Good bits:
12 months MOT...even passed the emissions fine (can be an MGF nightmare!).
Drives well.
Replacement hydragas displacer last month as was sagging. FYI- all the MGFs 'rolling low' on marketplace are likely broken (look it up).
New inlet manifold gasket fitted.
New thermostat and housing (was weeping coolant when I got it).
CV boot replaced.
Body generally pretty good. Few bubbly spots here and there, but not bad or structural.
Nice spec, leather interior, PAS, heated/electric mirrors and ABS.
Hardtop can come with vehicle if asking price is met. It's not perfect, but is the more desirable heritage hardtop and worth a bit by itself.
Soft top in pretty good nick...I've sent off the rear screen for replacement as it was split. Hood frame has a bit of surface rust that I may treat if time ticks on.

Bad bits:
Alternator has an intermittent whine but works. I have sourced a replacement, and will fit with a new belt if the car doesn't sell immediately. Parts can come with vehicle regardless.
Clutch isn't in the first flush of youth, but working fine (clutch kits are £75). I won't do this as it isn't urgent, or economical for what I have in a car I'm not planning to keep. Decent independents can do this for around £300 when the time comes.
Rear bootlid has holes from the knackered spoiler I removed. Currently has rubber bungs in situ. Replacements are cheaply available if you're inclined (one for £60 on eBay in the correct colour currently!).

Note-I am swapping the hairpin alloys pictured, for 'trophy' wheels from my other MGF (personal preference). Will update pics if I get the chance. They have better tyres on for free ;)

Overall it's a decent usable car that will be really nice with a bit more tlc. I'm probably only getting back what I've put into the car, but I like tinkering with MG's!

Happy to chat about the car over the phone or in person. I'm an enthusiast, not a dealer.

Please do NOT purchase and think you are coming to view/haggle. This is not how eBay works, and incurs time/fees at the seller end. Happy to field respectful offers once you have viewed the car or if you want to buy unseen.
