Here's an older Nicholson X-F #1 double-cut flat file with two safe edges. The cutting surface is 6" long and 1/2" wide. Overall length is 10".
It has the old-style wire-wrapped handle. The handle has a line that looks like a crack (see pic #8), but it doesn't move when flexed and seems solid. Since the wood has shrunk over the years, the wire wrap is slightly loose on the handle, but still does its job.
The file itself is in good condition - there are small signs that it was used to file aluminum, but its functionality isn't impaired.
