First edition,first printing.Hardback.This is an ex Boots library book.Publisher's blue cloth lettered in gilt to the spine.Square with no lean.Corners slightly pushed.Minor marking and rubbing to the boards including a mark at the bottom edge of the front panel where there would have been a Boots label.Some wear and rubbing to the spine ends with a split of around 1cm at the head of the spine and some small nicks.Titles dulled but legible.There is one label to the rear pastedown-see pictures.There are no stamps or labels to the title page or copyright page of front free endpaper and none have been removed.An illustration of a Mount Athos monastery marble panel has been stuck to the front pastedown-see pictures .There is a black felt pen mark to the bottom edge of the text block-see pictures.The book is generally solidly bound but there are old tape repairs(the tape has browned) in the gutter at pages 182/3 and 186/7 presumably where that section of pages has come loose-see last two pictures.Toning to the page edges.A little scattered foxing.Former owner's name,place and date(1930) in ink to the top edge of  the front endpaper.

Poor condition.
