The clock is in perfect working order having recently been professionally cleaned and serviced. This clock is absolutely perfect for anyone looking for a clock to place straight into their home.

If we start with the hood, this has a flat top finished with a lovely swan neck pediment. The top has a nice deep moulding with a pretty carved moulding below. Lovely delicately reeded Corinthian columns flank the hood door with nice simple back splats to the rear. The hood door has lovely shaped moulded edge to the inside edge and a pretty brass knob. The hood door has lovely shaped applied panels and thick bevelled glass to the hood door which is superb attention to detail.

If we then move down to the trunk this has beautifully shaped full-length door, which has been nicely cross banded in mahogany. The trunk door is then flanked by quarter reeded columns. The trunk also has lovely shaped applied panels to the sides.

The base has canted corners and a lovely shaped applied panel which is cross banded in mahogany. As with the hood and trunk the base has lovely shaped applied panels to the sides. The base is raised on ogee bracket feet.

The eight-day movement with makers name of 'Jno Minshull Denbigh' striking the hour has a square brass dial. It also has a subsidiary second dial and date aperture. The four corners are adorned with beautiful spandrels whilst the centre incorporates beautiful engraved swags. The dial is set out with Roman numerals with Arabic numerals above.

The MINSHULL family of Denbigh are  listed in ‘Wales Clocks and Clockmakers by William Linnard' : 'MINSHULL family. Denbigh. Four details of four generations of the Minshull clockmakers and their clocks, See Parker, Clockmaking in the Vale of Clwyd'.
