Steam locomotive 95 1027 of the German Reichsbahn. Edition model! ■ Model of the DB Museum's locomotive ■ For the first time in a coal-fired version ■ Finely detailed model with many separately attached plug-in parts ■ Free-standing boiler lines ■ Filigree checker plates ■ Wheels with fine spokes ■ With dynamic steam and prototypical sound functions ■ With cab and engine lighting ■ With enclosed set of etched signs The “Mountain Queen” with the number 95 027 was manufactured in 1923 by Hannoversche Maschinenbau AG (HANOMAG). With 1,620 hp, the Class 95 steam locomotives were the most powerful tank locomotives ever purchased by the Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft. The 95 027 did its hard work at various depots on Germany's steepest mountain routes until 1982. From 1950 to 1969 she was stationed in Blankenburg and traveled on the Rübelandbahn up into the Harz Mountains. In 1971 the main combustion engine was converted to oil. In 1982 it was converted back to coal firing and was added to the DR's traditional locomotive fleet. From 1994 to 2008 the locomotive with boiler damage was in the museum in Arnstadt. Since a thorough renovation at the Meiningen steam locomotive works, it has been running tourist trains again on its steep main route in the Harz Mountains since 2010.
