Description

The second half of the "World of the Oldest Japanese Swords: Yasutsuna and Kohoki Exhibition" (Kasuga Taisha National Treasure Hall) was held on February 1, 2020. The Yasutsuna clan of Hoki Province is a swordsmith famous for the long sword "Doji-kiri" (a national treasure) that is said to have been used by Minamoto no Yorimitsu to exterminate Shuten-doji. This exhibition was the first epoch-making exhibition in the history of swords, in which almost all of the swords designated as national treasures and important cultural properties were gathered in the National Treasure Hall of Kasuga Taisha Shrine, transcending 900 years of time and space.
