This is a very rare upgrade CPU for the Socket 5 and Socket 7 platform intended to replace aging Intel Pentium CPUs. There is no easier to use upgarde since the Turbochip has its entirely independent power regulation and clock multiplier. It can be installed in any motherboard capable of 66Mhz FSB and it will just run at the preconfigured 366Mhz.

I haven't seen such a solution before but I can attest that it works. I selected a standard Socket 7 motherboard with a 100Mhz Intel Pentium CPU as a testbed. All I had to do was remove the Pentium and insert the Turbochip and the system booted without the need for any other configuration.

The upgrade materialized in a 5,5X speed increase at least in the Speedsys benchmark program I used for testing the configuration. In real life situations it still should be around 3-3,5X increase according to the CPU clock.

The Kingston Turbochip has an integrated AMD K6-2 processor running at 366Mhz.

My policy:

I have been collecting vintage PCs, parts and accessories as a hobby for 12 years.

The hardware I’m selling were all tested usually on the day of the listing or not too much earlier. I take responsibility of their functionality for a reasonable testing period (one week following delivery). If there would be a problem I would either return the money or send a replacement part.

In most cases I have software and electronic documentation for the listed items which I would gladly share.

I provide combined shipping for auctions ending in a few days interval.

The items are safely packaged in antistatic bag, bubble wrap and cardboard boxes taking into account the size and weight of the hardware and the destination country.

I also accept offers. If you think I overpriced something or just want to pay a bit less contact me!

I would gladly answer any questions regarding my listed hardware.
