This is a genuine First World War period white metal badge for the 79th Cameron Highlanders of Canada. The badge is in fine condition, although it has some small, obscure marking on the front in some places and some small amounts of marking on the slider on the back.
The regiment fought in WWI, WWII (as the 2nd (Reserve) Battalion, The Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada) as well as in more modern conflicts such as the war in Afghanistan. The regiment is a light infantry role and their motto is "Ullamh" - Scottish Gaelic for "Ready".
