Offered for your consideration is this Antique Tramp Art /Folk Art/ Wall Magazine Newspaper Rack made from Railroad & Fruit Crates. It can hang on the wall from the wire that is currently affixed or the wire can be removed and it would hang from the horizontal slatting at the back.  It can be used to display record album covers while you're playing the album, or to display small unframed artwork or used to hold magazines / newspapers, or just display it as the unique investment level tramp art that it is. It carries an Arts & Crafts design and execution. It was made using flat pieces of wood, built up in progressively smaller layers to add dimension. The edges are carved in v-shaped notches. It retains some recognizable elements from railroad crates and fruit crate boxes in which it was crafted.  Most tramp art was produced by members of the working class. They also tended to be either immigrants primarily from Northern and Eastern Europe, or they were born in the U.S. The areas that seem to have the highest concentrations of tramp art are Pennsylvania, New York State, Illinois, and Wisconsin.
