Culture Hongshan either Hung Shan (approx. 4700 - 2900 BC c.) It was a civilization prehistoric from the northeast of China.

The culture owes its name to Hongshanhou, a site in the district of Hongshan , chifeng, which was discovered by Japanese archaeologist Torii Ryūzō in 1908, and extensively excavated in 1935 by Kōsaku Hamada and Mizuno Seiichi.
