Fascinating Ward Lock "Red" travel guide, dating from 1940/41.  11th edition revised.   Full of contemporary photographs, advertisements and fold-out maps.

These guides are increasingly becoming collectors' items. (See my Ward Lock Red Guides website for more information about the series.)

Area covered :   Western Scotland, including Oban, Fort William, Skye, Iona, Staffa and the Western Highlands of Scotland.

Overall condition :    Very good, but some wear.

Maps :   As this was a wartime edition, the maps were removed for security reasons.  There is a slip explaining this.

Covers :   Normal wear.   Slight fading to black design.  Faint bumping to edges.  No other markings or damage.

Spine :   Very good.  Normal wear.   Slight superficial rubbing.  No other markings or damage.

Binding :   Very good. Just a slight crack at the title page.

Pages :    Very good.     Very little wear,  but some discolouration at edges.  Small tear (no loss) to title page, and corner removed from page inside front cover (presumably to remove price).   No other markings or damage.
