1859 $5 The Bank of St. Johns note from Jacksonville, Florida.
This bank operated from 1859 until it failed in 1865.
This attractive note has a large Vignette of a cotton boll below the arched title. An early passenger train is at the lower left corner and a comptrollers office seal is on the lower right. A red tint covers the note with small lace designs and micro-lettered "FIVE"s.
This note grades Fine / Very Fine with small pinholes, a tear on the top edge, and some other tiny edge tears.
