Produced by world-famous optical and meteorological equipment manufacturer Bresser of Germany for National Geographic, this microscope kit offers everything you need to get started - including a high quality 40-1024x microscope with optical and digital eyepieces and a range of accessories and prepared slides, all packed into a strong and protective carrying case.

Digital eyepieces, used for many years in scientific laboratories, have become extremely popular over the last decade or so as equipment able to produce high resolution images have become more affordable, and they bring a whole new range of possibilities to microscopy - simply fit it into the microscope's eyepiece tube, connect it to a computer with a standard USB port and view the image on the monitor, which also allows editing and easy saving/emailing/sharing. This model has been around for a few years so the maximum resolution of 640x480 pixels no longer sounds impressive, but it's still enough to create highly detailed images that are more than good enough for hobbyist use and even for certain professional applications such as trading in rare stamps, coins and other items.

The microscope is also supplied with optical 10x and 16x eyepieces for more conventional use which, combined with the choice of 4x, 10x and 40x objective lenses, allows for maximum magnification of 1024x - enough to view extremely small objects and details, for example individual cells in a sample of organic material.

In addition, the tough carry case contains a number of accessories including the manual, a widefield eyepiece, a software disc, a pipette, tweezers, prepared slides (housefly leg, onion epidermis, pine wood, Dycotyledon wood, cotton stem), five unused slides and coverslips, and a brine shrimp (aka sea monkeys) breeding kit including eggs, though as the kit is a few years old we can't absolutely guarantee the eggs remain viable.

The microscope has seen very little use and is in excellent condition and full working order - there are some very slight signs of handling, but this is no more than the odd speck of dust and some very light marks; there are no scratches or similar serious damage. Most importantly, the optics are clean and in excellent condition.

Please do note that, as already stated, the brine shrimp eggs may no longer be viable due to age; however, they can be bought for very little money online, in aquarium shops and in many toy shops.

Payment

We only accept payments made through one of eBay's many approved methods. Please make sure to complete your payment within 96 hours of winning an item. Once your payment has been received we will dispatch your item as soon as possible, usually within two working days.

Delivery

Delivery times are calculated in working days (Monday to Friday). If your order is placed after 1pm, the next working day will be considered the first working day for delivery. In case of bank holidays and during the Christmas period where delays are more likely, please allow an extra few days for delivery.

Domestic Delivery

We aim to dispatch orders within two working days. If for any reason there is an unexpected delay in dispatching your order we will make sure to inform you of this as soon as possible.

We use Evri to deliver the majority of our parcels. If you would like to specify a preferred neighbour, or safe place for the parcel to be left, please leave the details in a message when placing your order.

Some low-value items will be sent by Royal Mail 2nd Class. Some items of higher value are sent by Royal Mail Signed For or Special Delivery, which require a signature. If you are not present at the time of delivery, a card will be left instructing you to arrange a redelivery, or to collect your order from the local sorting office.

Returns

Change of Mind

If when you receive your order you are not completely satisfied, you may return the items to us within 30 days for a refund. Returns will be processed within three working days once the goods have been received by us.

Items must be returned to us in the same condition as they were received by you. This includes, but is not limited to: original packaging, original boxes, packaging materials, manuals, blank warranty cards, accessories and documents. We reserve the right to refuse a return or deduct an amount for lost value where the item is returned in a different condition.

We strongly recommend that you fully insure your package that you are returning, as well as using a carrier that can provide you with tracking information or proof of delivery.

Arthur Rank Hospice Charity will not be held responsible for returns lost or damaged in transit.

Please be aware that it is the responsibility of the customer to cover any delivery charges for returning an unwanted item.

Incorrect/Damaged Goods

We try very hard to ensure that you receive your order in pristine condition. In the unlikely event that your order arrives damaged or faulty, please contact us via eBay immediately, this will be given special priority and you can expect to receive a response within 48 hours, Monday to Friday.
