Kawasaki 1973-1980 Z1, KZ900, KZ1000.
Almost new, completely refurbished
1197cc big bore cylinder (PS-706).

This listing is for a vintage 1973 to 1980
Z1, KZ900, KZ1000 cylinder that has been
restored to better than new condition.
This cylinder is embossed with 1.015Lcc.
It has had the sleeves replaced with LA Sleeve
3.200” ductile steel sleeves, then bored and
honed to finish at 1197cc.
This is an increase of over 32 percent from the
903cc displacement of a Z1. It is an increase
of almost 18 percent over the 1015cc displacement
of a KZ1000.

Big bore kit labor.
Remove sleeves, bore and counterbore cylinder to accept oversized sleeves.
Heat cylinder and install oversized sleeves.
Press sleeves in cylinder.
Resurface head gasket surface on Bridgeport.
Bore and hone oversized sleeves to match supplied MTC-K1197-2F piston kit.
The piston to wall
clearance has been set to .0008 inch on the two outside
cylinders and .0010 inch on the two inside cylinders.
This is done as the two inside cylinders tend to run hotter
than the outside cylinders.

The rings have been end gapped and assembled on the pistons.

The piston kit includes the following:
(4) 76mm forged aluminum pistons with 10.5:1
compression ratio.
(4) sets of 76XC rings with three piece oil ring
(4) 17mm standard wrist pins
(8) teflon buttons sized for 76mm bore to replace circlips
(1) two piece fiber Cometic head gasket
(1) Japanese made PMC Reinforced Center Tunnel o’ring
(1)fiber base gasket

The cylinder has been resurfaced on a Bridgeport type mill.
It is guaranteed to be flat.

The cylinder has
been refinished with a silver high temperature
paint that has been baked on to make it
extremely durable. The finish was applied
after bead blasting. This finish
looks better than a brand new cylinder.
