This eye-catching 9ct yellow gold bar brooch is set
with a colourful opal. It has a linear bar form with tapering open frame arms, overlaid
with small leaf motifs. The centre has a horizontal elliptical closed back
bezel set with a colourful doublet opal, full of bright flashing blues, greens
and coppery tones. It has the same characteristics and qualities of opals mined
at Lightning Ridge, New South Wales.
It is clearly stamped 9ct for its 375 yellow gold
purity, along with APEX, for its successful Melbourne based jeweller and silverware manufacturer.
It has a pin and hook hasp fitting supported by a safety chain and pin.
