In 1993, Radiohead released their debut album Pablo Honey, the title of which was inspired by a prank call from one of the Jerky Boys' infamous comedy CDs.
The result was a stunning mix that combined the best aspects of prog rock (sophisticated lyrics, clever chord changes, novel time signatures, and so on) with the simplicity of a living room singer's songwriting and the sound of expensive equipment tinkered with by experts. Although later albums were better received, this remains one of rock's most impressive debuts.
