Author Biography
Born in 1947 in Guymon Oklahoma, Mel Adkins a true adventurer, has been a cattle rancher, team penning rodeo cowboy, and a trail ride owner/operator in the Wasatch National Forest high above Beaver Utah. He has rode half broke colts on cattle drives on the Old Spanish Trail, and shivered in the frosty mornings of a Rocky Mountain fall roundup. He has lived a part of the life he writes about. He has resided in Oklahoma where he owned and operated Adkins Cattle Company, and Alaska where he worked as a gold miner, oilfield roughneck, commercial fisherman, and an Iditarod sled dog racer. He now lives in southern Utah with his wife and daughter.
