Spot Cleaning:
- For small stains or spills, use a mild detergent mixed with water and a soft brush to gently scrub the affected area.

Our Story:

Hi, my name is Ahmed founder @Treetrench. I am a Warwick engineering graduate and an ex PhD candidate in sustainable technologies. Realizing that most technologies aimed at mitigating our carbon emissions require at least a decade of development to start making a difference, I started researching how we could achieve the same result through a rather holistic approach, where we all take the responsibility of fighting climate change and saving the planet.

I found that UK landfills release around 19 megatonnes of CO2 yearly, and that 19 percent of all waste ending there originates from households. To put this in perspective, to just mitigate our landfill emissions, we need to PLANT 1.2 MILLION TREES DAILY (6 million trees to mitigate all the emissions from the landfill site).

Furthermore, based on many case studies (Guernsey Island is one I recommend reading about), it is not very complicated to tackle (from a consumer point of view). We just need to change the way we are currently shopping and start thinking more about what we do with things we no longer need. Our whole economy is based on the principle of Making, Using, and Disposing. We need to change that by adopting the circular economy instead. This means restructuring much of our infrastructure, to keep items in circulation for a much longer period and make the switch to a Make, Use, reuse/recycle model (Landfills don't exist in this model).

So why start from the home furnishings sector? The amount of waste generated from households is massive at around 28 million tonnes with 44% only being recycled, the rest goes to landfills. We want to not only prevent items from ending in landfills but also reduce the amount of reusable items that are recycled leading to an increase in the UK reuse average (there is very limited data on that and it is very concerning).

We are currently growing and throughout our existence as a sustainable and conscious business attempting to bring change, we will be spending every single penny of profit and any funds we get into creating the infrastructure and ensuring the UK becomes waste-free (consumers and manufacturers).
