It Has The Word Patent On The Front And Has Initial On The Back, E M P.

The Design Is Floral And Looks Like Sunflowers.

It Is Mounted On A Card With A Registered Design Number 297874, That Dates The Brooch Back To 1897 And I Would Think That The Balance Itself Predates That Time Period, Though I Am No Expert.

The Words Real Jewel Are Handwritten In Ink.

On The Reverse Of The Mount Card Is A Price Of 13 Shillings.

The Pin And C Clasp Are Functioning Securely.

This Would Make A Great Statement Piece Of Steampunk Jewellery.
