France - 1857 Stampless Entire Lettre sent from Antioch (then in Syrie, now Hatay province, Turkey) to an armourer in Marseille concerning supply of 2 rifles. Routed via Alexandrette with a very fine 'Alexandrette, Syrie' French Post Office cachet on the front and then by sea south to Beyrouth (receipt mark on the reverse) and then by sea to France - 'PAQUEBOTS DE LA MEDITERRANEE' boxed cachet in red ink on the front.
