This is
a fast f/1.8 55mm lens.
Glass is unscratched & unmarked. Aperture action
clicks positively and overall condition is very good. No mould,
fungus, or oil. It produces superb "SHARP" pictures
(in the same league as the Takumar or Pancolar)
sharper than any Pentacon just to give you an idea.
Pictures are well saturated with rich colours, crisp
focus, and beautiful bokeh. Solid lens
construction, all Metal, no cheap plastics anywhere,
built to last. Excellent All-round lens.
It
can be fitted to almost any Digital SLR camera with a
suitable M42 adapter. M42 Adapters are available cheaply
on eBay for all
digital SLRs including NIKON, SONY ALPHAS AND NEX, PENTAX,
PANASONIC to name a just a few brands..
Try searching "M42 to canon" or "M42 to nikon" or "M42
to the camera brand that you own".
This
lens does not have a Manual switch, and when used on
digital cameras most adapters, but not all,
will depress the auto pin from the rear of the lens so
that the lens is effectively a manual lens. To
ensure positive operation with all available adapters for
digital cameras, and given that some Canon and Pentax
adapters do not keep the rear pin depressed, auto mode
has been disabled so the lens becomes effectively a
manual lens, and the aperture changes positively
regardless of any pin or adapters, giving peace of mind
while using the lens and ensuring 100% compatibility
with any digital adapters. The lens is therefore for
Digital users, or for film camera users working in manual
mode.
Fujinon
lenses also come with a protruding tab on the rear which do
not allow to focus to infinity when used on digital
cameras. The way around this is file down that tab, and
luckily this lens has enjoyed that job and is ready to use
on dslr via an adapter..
As normal with used lenses, there might be some insignificant speckles of dust inside which do not affect in any way the use of the lens and the lovely pictures it takes. This lens comes serviced and has very little/hardly any dust.
