The opal is cupped into the sterling with a raised dome cabochon, smooth to the touch with a streamline sterling exterior that has been highly polished.

The opal is solid and although a dark, light will pass through. A lattice underneath allows for a comfortable 'breathability' providing an open frame design that is intellectually appealing. The top of the band keeps the width of the opal until about halfway down the shank until it tapers down the back. This is a protective measure. The band in the back is 3mm which allows you the full use of your hand for comfort.

Very NICE fire in this ring with play of light and marvelous depth. The fire is robust and regal. A true black opal that leans black (not as much blue as our pictures show).

The ring measures 17mm Knuckle to knuckle, and the opal is 14mm by 10mm. 8.5 grams and a perfect size 13, you'll be very pleased with this ring.
