Historical context: The World Festival of Youth and Students is the name of a regular international youth gathering organized by the World Federation of Democratic Youth.
Meetings have been organized since 1947, when the first meeting was held in Prague.
The participants are predominantly left-wing.
The nineteenth year of the festival took place from October 14 to 22, 2017 in Moscow and Sochi (Wiki).
