Borne on his portable throne, Pope Pius XII is seen as he entered St. Peter's Basilica, Vatican City March 12, for a coronation mass, preliminary to the actual coronation. This picture is from the first series of originals on the papal coronation to reach the United States. Photo measures 9 x 7.25 inches. Photo is dated 03-20-1939.
