This Brooks Flyer Saddle is a Classic Sprung Saddle that is meant for angled riding position on a Touring Bike, Commuter, Cruiser, or Mountain Bike. It has a High Quality Durable Vegetable Tanned Leather Top with 7mm x 7mm Steel rails. The saddle is approximately 10 3/4" or 275mm nose to tail long and around 175mm or about 7" wide. All Saddles sold here are Full Size Mens Saddles and are Not Short or Women's Sizes. The Seat Weighs around 860 grams or a tad over 1 3/4 pound. Choices are: Black, Brown, or Honey with a option of Carved or a Special. A Special has larger copper rivets and is a special edition saddle. Carved has the Iconic Imperial Cut out for pressure relief, extra flex, & comfort when riding. The seat has 7mm rails and will work with newer integrated seat posts or will require a 7/8" seat pan clamp to use with a 7/8" top seatpost, 7/8" clamps are common to all new seats, and Vintage Schwinn seat posts have an 5/8" top (a size no longer used), You will need a Newer 7/8" top Schwinn Post or Shim to use with the clamp. NOTE: Leather Saddles are a Luxury, Relationship, and a Responsibility. The Seat will come real hard and will break in and shape to your body over time with use. You'll need to make sure you oil your saddle when it needs it, otherwise it'll dry out, crack and become worthless. I would follow Brooks Care Recommendations because Brooks is vegetable tanned and old leather working techniques are not recommended. A Leather Saddle is an investment and is not for one who wants a care free seat that can be left in the rain. You can't avoid getting caught in the rain ( it will happen) but with good care it will last and be a saddle you love.
