This is a true Satsuma Masterpiece of incredible artistry.  The most rare and early Imperial Gosu Blue with gorgeous scenes of Japanese figures.  These are wonderful large figures of glorious gem-like melded enamels and fabulous raised gold, silver, and colored slip.  This masterwork dates to between 1830 and 1860, to a time when there were very few marks used.  This is a period where some of these works appeared with brilliant jewel-like blended watercolor affects (as is this one).  The wonderful Gosu Blue is outlined in raised gold moriage.  In fine condition and measures 13 1/2" in diameter by 10" in height.

Look very very close at this piece.  There are too many details and techniques to cover (from subtle shading of backgrounds to silver slip flower stems to jewel enamels to subtle touches of color supplying texture to the backgrounds).

Would be thousands in a large auction.

Our highest recommendation!  None better!
