Deshojo maples are a bonsai classic and easy to keep, eye-catching cultivar of Japanese maple.

The bright red leaves will really start to come through during spring, turning green in the summer, and having a bright scarlet colour for autumn.

These Japenese Maples are at their best in moist but well drained soil, sheltered from cold winds, which may cause leaf scorch.

During the hotter days, they should be given partial shade.
