Ultimate Cycling Shoes with Supple Kangaroo Leather and 1-Piece Heat-Moldable Carbon Outsole/Heel Counter

 

Up for sale is CX402, the top-end road model in Lake’s cycling footwear hierarchy (now replaced with the successor CX403). It has a durable, but super-supple kangaroo leather upper, a heat-moldable, unique one-piece carbon fiber outsole/heel counter (identical to that of CX403), and the dual Boa IP1S closures system, all of which combined together guarantee a fit that’s second to none.

 

The pair for sale is brand-new – they were never worn nor heat-molded before. It’s stored in a smoke-free, temperature-controlled warehouse for the last 5 years. The shoes are in perfect condition.

 

LAST

CX/TX Race Last – Featuring a slightly narrower toe box and tighter heel than the Competition last and less overall volume than the Sport last. Designed for very high-cadence riding with a slimmer fit.

 

OUTSOLE 

Custom Fit Carbon Fiber sole with the 3-hole cleat pattern for Shimano/Look/Time, etc. It's also compatible with a Wahoo SPEEDPLAY cleat with an adapter. *Note that cleats are not included in the sale.

 

CX402 requires heat-molding before the first ride. During this process, the shoes conform to your feet and achieve perfect fit and incredible heel hold, enabling ultimate power transfer. You can find heat-molding tutorials on Lake’s website. You can repeat the molding process up to 5 times as per Lake, but in my experience with CX402 and other heat-moldable models like CX332, it can be repeated 10 or 15 times without damaging the shoes.

 

SIZING 

Please consult the size guide on Lake’s website prior to the purchase, if you’re not sure about an appropriate size for your feet. There’s also an instructional video titled “Lake Shoe Fitting: How shoes are sized and finding your shoe size” on YouTube.

 

SHIPPING 

The shoes will be shipped from Japan via FedEx or DHL Expedited service. Once the package is handed to the courier on my end, you may not change the delivery address or there will be additional charge for that. Therefore, please make sure that the address you’re providing to me is where you or someone on your behalf will be able to receive the package, and double-check that the address is complete with no information missing.

 

Also, delivery to a remote area may incur additional charge (usually around US$20). Search with keywords such as "fedex out of delivery area" or "dhl remote area" and you'll find their lists of these areas.
