This is an original press photo. Douglas, William O. (Supreme Court Justice). Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas, a man who makes himself at home in any surroundings, reclines on the rug-covered floor of an outdoor shelter during a meal with natives of Ashkabad, Russian town on the Iranian border. The occasion was recorded by the camera of Douglas' traveling companion, Robert F. Kennedy, during their recently-concluded tour of Asia and the Soviet Union. Kennedy is the brother of Massachusetts Senator John Kennedy.Photo measures 10 x 8.25inches. Photo is dated 9-15-1955.
