This is an overlay made of 100% rushes grown in Yatsushiro, Kumamoto Prefecture with reduced use of agricultural chemicals. Characteristics [1] It is more durable and resilient than ordinary rushes, and its unique blue color lasts longer. (2) Even if the color fades due to sunburn, it will change to a beautiful amber color. (3) It has the ability to absorb nitrogen dioxide, which is a cause of air pollution, and also works well in regulating the humidity in the room. You can refresh your Tatami room just by laying the overlay. Please use it as a cover to refresh tatami that has been tanned and to prevent new tatami from being stained. We use Japanese rushes (produced in Yatsushiro, Kumamoto prefecture, where rushes are grown) with a length of 130 cm or more [JAS 1 class (the highest class among tatami mats)], which are usually used for tatami mats. The carefully selected thick and long rushes of high quality are densely woven together, so it is strong and durable, and has a comfortable volume on the bare skin. Approximately 88 cm of the 130 cm length is used. This is a high quality product using long rushes with few white areas at the edge of the heri. (The white part is not tanning, but the color of the base and tip of the rushes.) The longer the rush is, the higher the quality. The tip of the rush grass is reddish brown, the base is white, and the center is blue (green). The more of the high-quality blue part in the middle is used, the stronger and more beautiful the finish will be. The more the blue part in the middle is used, the more beautiful and even the whole surface will be tanned and tasted. This product is finished with Itohiki weave, which is the same weaving method as Tatami-omote. Compared with twin-weave weaving, it is sturdier because more rushes are used. The smooth surface prevents the accumulation of dust. We recommend the Itohiki weave for those who want to use it for a long time and for those who are looking for durability. We use domestically produced rush grass (from Yatsushiro, Kumamoto Prefecture). Each strand of Japanese rush grass is thicker, with a thicker outer skin and finer fibers, making it more resilient and durable. Rigusa has the characteristics of purifying the air, regulating humidity, and being stain resistant. Hiba essence, extracted from hiba trees in Aomori Prefecture, is processed on the surface of the fabric using the manufacturer's proprietary technology. Hiba essence contains hinokitiol, a natural substance with extremely high antibacterial properties. (It has an antibacterial and deodorizing effect compared to untreated products.) Both sides of the front and back can be used, making it economical. Because it is a natural material and craftsmen work on it one by one by hand, the shape may vary and the size may be slightly different from the indicated size. Please understand.
