Antique Red Headed Woodpecker Pull String Door Knocker Handcrafted Wood Folk Art

We are pleased to offer this unique handcrafted folk art red headed woodpecker door knocker made of carved wood. This knocker is hand painted in black, white and red. The platform is dark green. This base measures approximately 8-1/2" long x 3-1/2" wide and is 1" thick. The woodpecker itself measures 7" long x 3" wide and is 1" thick. The white string is about 10" long and has an attached round wooden knob at the end.

The woodpecker has a metal bar that allows it to swivel. When the string is pulled, the bird's head comes back. Then, when it is released, the woodpecker's head comes forward, knocking/pecking on the wood and making a sound. It already has a hole drilled on each side for easy ane quick wall mounting.

This door knocker is great in vintage condition with its original wonderful weathered look. The paint job is still good, and the wooden figure is solid and works well with the pull-string.
