Dawn & Her World: A Collector's Identification and Price Guide is a full color reference to the 1970s 6 1/2" (16cm) Topper Dawn doll and her world. This printing is limited to less than 1900 copies, signed by the author, and printed on glossy archival museum quality paper. This book is self published and will not be available through standard book sellers. Guide includes all of the information offered in the now out of print 1995 first ever Dawn guidebook by the same author and a lot more. The author, Joedi Johnson, has collected, researched and written articles about Dawn dolls for 15 years.
Chapter one covers the dolls in Dawns family (including European variations),
Chapter two covers her extensive wardrobe,
Chapter three details the many accessories that bore Dawn's name including similar Canadian, European and Japanese items,
Chapter four outlines some of the many similar dolls that were produced in response to Dawn's success: Little Miss Dollikin/Triki Miki (7 different boxed dolls shown and 16 outfits plus reissue dolls), Dizzy Girl (all but one outfit for this Mego doll are shown in the book), Cindy Joy, Premiere, Petite, Remco Jeannie (bottle playset, 2 different dolls, 9 different Jeannie outfits shown) Diana, Tiny Teen, Rock Flowers, Swingin' Scene, Fashion World, and more. 276 different packaged clone items are shown
Chapter five introduces the world of the similar Palitoy Pippa doll that was produced in Europe in the early 1970s. 19 boxed Pippa family dolls, 77 packaged outfits, most of her accessories (both apartments, all horse sets, salon, 2 different cases, sports car, range rover) and more are featured.
This Dawn doll book also includes a guide to the unnamed Dawn stock fashions (115 different variations shown), body mold comparisons, so dolls, the Dawn of the 1990s JPI Starr dolls (104 Starr items pictured) and more.
