ITEM DESCRIPTION
This is an antique glass dump-style paperweight or maybe doorstop hand blown and made from aqua glass. It has a nice double flower pattern inside.
Very fine example this one which you can only see really properly when it is in your hand. It has the appearance of 2 flowers in a pot with a fine stalk between.
Looking really closer though you can see the very faint bubble of each blow of the design. This often cannot be seen as the paperweights - doorstops have so many knocks and bruises from the year they are made till modern times you cannot see this fine detail.
The glass has fine inclusions and bubbles too.
Wear on the base from being picked up and put down many times.
There is a nice unfinished pontil rod mark on the base.
No maker's marks etc.
Where I live, I see an awful lot of Sunderland glass dump paperweights but I have never seen one as good as this one before. It is an absolute " belta ".

Condition report: Normal signs of age and use wear including some surface scuffs and minor impact marks etc.
It measures approx. 100mm tall (4 inches) x 85mm in diameter at the base.
