Fine Men's Estate Vintage Retro Mod '70s Gruen Jump-Hour Autowind Watch - RUNS!

We at Strickland Vintage Watches have had the privilege of buying fine things from around the world, often acquiring entire estates just to get one piece. There might be several good items in a group that are outside our sphere of interest. However, they may just be the wonderful treasures you've been seeking!

There have been many of you out there who can’t afford an SVW piece but still want a vintage timepiece on your wrist; there are set designers and costume coordinators on productions who are looking for just the right piece for their character(s). The estate-fresh pieces we list are for you.

Some run; some do not but none have been cleaned, oiled and calibrated, so whether it is running at the time of this writing or not, one must have the piece serviced before wearing it as an everyday driver.

We’re pleased to offer this late ‘60s/early ‘70s Gruen jump-hour Autowind wristwatch in surprisingly good original condition(!) Measures approx. 32mm by 26mm – not counting crown, of course. I would consider this piece quite rare, as I’ve seen VERY few in the decades we’ve been serving our fine clients. I’d call it a mid-size piece; perhaps a ladies watch as it is not huge: That said, it’s a fine size for a man with a slender wrist. My guess is a piece this fascinating and unusual will go to one of our overseas friends or a professional who wants something very nearly unique without paying dearly for it.
