DESCRIPTION:
This is a wonderful English Mahogany Mantel / Bracket clock which is by SMITHS. The case is made from lovely mahogany and is of lovely grand proportions. The movement to this clock is superb having Westminster chimes and has a 'CHIME / SILENT' facility located at '3'.
The clock is of impressive proportions (please note wine bottle not includes, is only to display proportion of the clock). The top is a lovely basket shape and is finished with a pretty handle. This leads down to a the glass door. The dial is brass with an antique finish with a silvered chapter ring and is set out with Roman numerals with small Arabic numerals above, and it is finished with a super pair of shaped fingers. The bottom of the dial is signed 'MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN'. The four corner are adorned with lovely brass maiden head spandrels.
The movement is accessed by a door to the rear which is complete with a turn catch. The clock is happily ticking and chiming away and keeping good time and the movement is superb being an eight day with Westminster chimes.
The tunes are on rods such that it plays quarter of the tune at quarter past, half at half past, three quarters at quarter to and then the full tune on the hours followed by the time being struck. Everything about this clock is lovely quality.
The movement case is stamped with 'SMITHS MADE IN GT BRITAIN SMITHS CLOCKS AND WATCHES' and is complete with it's original smiths winding key The clock is happily ticking and chiming away and keeping good time.

The approximate MAXIMUM dimensions are: 9 1/4 inches (23.5 cm) wide x 8 inches (20.5 cm) deep x 12 3/4 inches (32.5 cm) cm high to top of handle / 11 1/2 inches / 29 cm when handle is down
CONDITION:
The case is in lovely condition as can be seen from the photographs just minor marks commensurate with age. The dial is also in nice condition just ageing marks as would be expected. The clock is in perfect working order. Please study photographs carefully as they form part of the description and condition, as what you view is exactly what you will receive.
