This is not a whole Obi

Beautiful panel from a Vintage Japanese Maru Obi.

This piece of vintage silk comes from a Japanese Maru Obi, a formal sash worn by women at wedding or other ceremonies.

It has a traditional "Fans with Crane, Cart, Flower and Pine" design on a pale cream with a hint of shimmery metallic gold base.

In great condition with just some creases (see detail photos) from storage and wear.

I have not ironed this piece.

Measurement: Approximately 12ins wide by 12ins long


You could use it to make a table runner, wall hangings, bags, centerpieces of patchwork, cushions or any other craft or quilting project.
