1960s Horikawa S.H Japan Tin Battery Operated Machine Robot With Original Box.

Also known / referred to as the Turn Signal Robot. His nickname derives from the directional indicator lights set behind metal arrow pointers in the chest.

Tin battery-operated robot with visible gears mechanism which was made in Japan by Horikawa in 1963.

In action he walks forward, his arms swing, the gears turn and the directional indicator lights in the chest flash. The white head dome also lights up!

After testing the robot with batteries, it does exactly as described above and is in FULLY WORKING condition.

The overall condition of this robot is excellent for its age with only very minimal signs of play wear and a few small scratches. The battery compartment is perfectly clean. Please note it appears that the red switch on the front has had a small repair but this does not impact functionality and it is barely visible but care is appropriate when switching on/off. The perspex chest cover is crack free and all lights and actions working well.

The robot is accompanied by its original box which is in good condition for its age showing usual expected signs of wear and creasing to ends, corners and sides. There are a few small tears and some old tape on one corner.

Approx. 29cm tall.

Requires 2 x D cell batteries (not included). IMPORTANT: DUE TO THE INCREASED WEIGHT AND SIZE OF MODERN-DAY ALKALINE D CELL BATTERIES, THESE VINTAGE ROBOTS WORK BEST WITH PLASTIC BATTERY CONVERTERS (WITH AA BATTERIES) OR A COMBINATION OF ONE OF EACH.

Please do take a close look at the photos provided for condition, quality and detail as these help form part of the description.
