A splendid volume for the gardener, farmer, agronomist, collector.  One of that excellent USDA series.  Here is an historic book.  A book on how the science of agriculture, food and more was applied, in the 1920s, to better the world.

We forget today there was a terrible depression in the then-huge farming and agriculture industry in America immediately following World War I, when farmers and agribusinesses grossly overproduced to feed the warring sides in World War I.  A multi-year depression followed, and the farming industry collapsed.  Here is a snapshot of that time in America.
