This is a magnificent cabinet vase made by Rookwood Pottery. The vase is in excellent, near-mint condition with no chips, no cracks, no crazing and no repairs. This piece is 5-1/4" tall, 2-1/4" wide at the mouth and 3-1/2" wide at the shoulder. The base of the pottery is stamped with the Rookwood Pottery flame mark, the shape number 2284 and the production year XXVIII (1928). The vase features a beautiful ovoid shape with a band of geometric blocks in an art-deco motif encircling the vase. This gorgeous glaze is a matte dusty-rose with a darker green overspray that has curdled beautifully on the vase creating interest and texture. This glaze color combination was one of the most popular that Rookwood produced in the 1920s and 1930s.
