French Antique Majolica Oyster Plate made in Dijon area of France around 1890


Item description: 

A beautiful shiny French majolica oyster plate made in Dijon area workshop in France around 1890s. Skilfully crafted design of 6 wells depicting natural shells for oysters surrounding a round centrepiece for lemon or sauce made in a shape of starfish. Each shell well is delicately painted with degrade effect from light blue to white. Green seaweed ornament is decorating the space in-between the wells.

Condition:   Perfect antique condition.  No chips, cracks or repairs. Only slightest crazing to the glaze can be foundPlease see all photos for details.
