Vintage Hubley - Grace Drayton Design Still Bank - Bulldog Puppo - w/Bumble Bee

Offered, is a vintage Hubley, Grace Drayton designed Still Bank of a sitting bulldog pup named Puppo.  Puppo is glancing over her right shoulder at a Bumble Bee that has landed on her right side.

This Grace Drayton designed female Puppo bulldog has a hand painted white body with black ears, eyes, mouth, nose, feet along with the Bumble Bee on her right side.  Sometime in the past the inside of the bank was painted red, as you can see by the red that shows along the seam where the front and back sides of the two piece bank fit together.  The bow around her neck appears to have originally been painted white however, a small amount of red paint is noted behind the white bow at the neck and on the end portion of the bow located adjacent to the flat head screw that holds the two pieces of the bank together.  If you look through the holes found in the bottom of the Grace Drayton design Puppo Banks, manufactured by Hubley, you can see where someone in the past painted the interior “red”.  None of the red paint can be seen when looking at the bank from the front.  The Bumble Bee located on her right side is hand painted black.

This Grace Drayton designed Puppo cast iron Still Bank is in good condition with only minor paint loss due to small paint chips from the head and body with no broken or damaged cast iron pieces.  She has a tight seam where the two halves fit together, with a flat head screw holding the two pieces together.

She stands approximately 5 inches tall by approximately 3 ¾inches wide at the base and 3 ½ inches deep at the base, weighing 1 pounds 14.6ounces.
