Gaius Plinius Caecilius Secundus, usually known as Pliny the Younger, wrote to his friends for 12 years and selected 247 of these for publication. They describe the eruption of Vesuvius, Clitumnus, Lake Vadimon, and his country homes at Laurentum and Tifernum, Domitian's death etc. Translated & introduced by Betty Radice.

The book is in great shape. No writing, book plates, and binding is tight. End pages are still quite vibrant and little wear on book. The slipcase does have wear (please see photos) but still structurally firm.
